Nellis Air Force Base is the eighth largest Air Force base by population at 29,900 inhabitants and a land area of 14,000 acres. Nellis boasts the most military schools and squadrons on a single air force base. Nellis is eight miles northeast of downtown Las Vegas and 17 miles from McCarran International Airport.
Nellis is home of the Air Force Thunderbirds Demonstration Squadron, USAF Fighter Weapons School, Tactical Air Command, 99th Air Base Wing, 57th Wing, Nevada Test and Training Range, 53rd Test and Evaluation Group, 505th Combat Training Group, 926th Wing & 820th RED Horse Squadron.

AIRMAN & FAMILY READINESS CENTER
The Airman & Family Readiness Center is a resource center which connects service members, retirees and their families to on and off-base services of all types, including, but not limited to the Key Spouse Program, parenthood preparation, children’s activities, and financial assistance/counseling.
AIRMAN’S ATTIC
The Airman’s Attic allows all ranks to drop-off or pick-up uniforms and accessories for free. It also provides household items to E5 and below service members for free.
ARTS & CRAFTS CENTER
The Arts and Crafts Center provides services such as engraving, framing, embroidery and garment printing. They also hold monthly paint nights.

THE CLUB
The Club is a consolidated club offering food and entertainment through the week. Within the club is a fully functioning conference center that can support a number of personal and professional events like change of command ceremonies, job fairs and parties.

The Commercial Travel Office will assist with official PCS/ETS travel orders.

The Community Commons includes a computer lab, video gaming area, reading area, and multipurpose room for children while accompanied by an adult.
EDUCATION CENTER
The Education Center offers adult education services and resources to service members, retirees, DOD civilians and their families. There are 5 on-base schools offering undergraduate and graduate level coursework.
